Creating a Facebook business page is a good method of promotion because Facebook business pages are viewable by millions of Facebook users.

Facebook pages are an effective advertising platform offering innovative methods of Web marketing, allowing for interaction among business owners and customers.

A user can customize a page at Facebook by adding his own content and working with pre-installed applications, such as a flash player and a photo uploader, to create a distinctive presence on the Web.

Different from the Facebook user profile pages, the Facebook business page application is a virtual method utilizing Internet marketing methods to get the word out about products and services. Even better, when users update their Facebook pages, in most cases, these changes are distributed via Facebook news Feeds and mini Feeds.

When a visitor comes across a business page at Facebook, he/she can interact in a number of ways: becoming a fan, reading the latest news, joining in discussions, viewing photos or watching videos.

When a fan implements actions on the page, those actions spread out across the Facebook network, spawning news Feed stories for the users' friends, thus advertising the page to a greater extent. The Facebook news Feed drives "word-of-mouth" so that the Facebook page is advertised to an even wider circle of people.

Benefits of Creating a Facebook Business Page

  • A recognizable name is easily spotted by Facebook users and customers and can be accessed by interested parties actually searching for it.
  • A picture of a store front, a logo or a book cover, can be uploaded to create a unique presence at Facebook, seen as a thumbnail in the Facebook news Feed.
  • A business page at Facebook attracts new prospects.

Facebook Pages Supply Important Business Information

  • Business addresses
  • Hours of operation
  • Contact information
  • Event Announcements and RSVPs
  • Tour dates
  • Book launches
  • New Releases
  • Photos
  • Videos
  • Relevant links

Users visiting a restaurant page can readily find the phone number, view menu offerings, and book reservations in advance, all from the convenience of the Facebook page. A page created around a popular film might include a video clip, ticket information, movie times and locations where the film is currently playing. Music lovers can watch videos of their favorite bands and check tour dates and performance locations.

Creating an online business page is strategic Internet marketing, offering both convenience and information to fans and potential customers who spend time browsing the Internet.

Additional Benefits of Creating a Facebook Business Page

  • A page can be linked to a user's Twitter account so that updates are automatically sent to Twitter
  • A handy "Become a Fan" button displayed on a page at Facebook helps to attract a following.
  • A Facebook Fan Box widget can be installed on blogs and websites encouraging readers to join the page.
  • A Facebook Live Stream Box can be created around a Facebook page and installed on blogs/websites.
  • Facebook page badges can also be utilized.
  • Facebook pages can be advertised via Facebook ads. These image and text-based ads go out to millions of Facebook users, tapping into a vast network of potential customers.

Benefits of Facebook for Business

By creating a Facebook business page, users connect and engage fans via web marketing that, by its virtual nature, offers impressive functionality for wider dispersal.

Great article. I know we can make a product profile in mySpace but I'm not aware that we can do the same in Facebook. I thought Facebook is just good for social networking and playing games. At least that's what my children do.

We've used www.socialkik.com to buy a few thousands of fans for multiple facebook pages and they always over delivered on the number of fans that we purchased by up to 30% of extra fans. After the Socialkik campaigns were over, newer visitors to our Facebook page are more willing to become a fan than before, because they see that it's being liked by over 10,000 of other fans.
